Shirakawa – 飛騨の匠工房 No.040 Chair

This chair is made from solid wood.
The back is made of bent wood, and the curves at both ends gently fitting the body.
The finish is a vegetable oil coating to bring out the texture of the wood. This coating does not make a film on the surface of the wood, but allows the oil to penetrate into the interior of the wood, allowing you to feel the texture of the wood and its skin. The front legs and seat are joined using an ancient method called a “warikusabi”, which achieves both strength and design.
The seat has a counterbore and is very comfortable to wear.
